Captain Tom started working as a mate on party boats in Belmar N.J in the mid sixties. In 1969 he enlisted in the U.S. Coast Guard where he served for four years, there he spent some time on ships. Then he was transferred to a shore station in Connecticut. There he qualified as a boat coxswain and ran boats doing search and rescue. He was honorably discharged in 1973 and received his Captains License.
He fished out of Connecticut before taking a job running a boat for the government in 1974.. He missed fishing and came to the Atlantic Highlands in 1974. There he ran party boats for other people till 1987 when he purchased the first Atlantic Star. He sold that Atlantic Star to purchase the present Atlantic Star.
People ask him what he did before this. He tells them this is all he's ever done. He tries hard because he loves seeing people catch fish.
