Fishing Reports

Atlantic Highlands blackfishing November 17

We did not make our 7:30 am blackfish trip today. We will not be sailing the next few days due to the forecast  for strong winds. Hopefully the winds will subside and we came get back to fishing by Thursday. Unless the forecast changes that looks like our next chance. We will have to wait and see. WE are looking forward to seeing everyone when we get back on our schedule of sailing at 7:30 am and returning between 2:30 and 3pm.

Atlantic Highlands blackfishing November 16

Made our 7:30 am blackfish trip from the Atlantic Highlands marina today. We were not happy with the blackfishing today. We made quite a few drops in different areas and only caught a few on each spot. The fish were of mixed sizes but not enough. Ben was the only exception, he was able to catch his limit. Other than that it was not a good day. The weather the next few days does not sound good. Hopefully after this weather goes by the fishing will improve. We did manage a few sea bass (all on crab bait). We did not see any porgies. We are not using any clam bait cause it attracts the dogfish. Weather permitting we are sailing everyday leaving at 7:30 am and returning between 2:30 and 3pm. Looking forward to seeing everyone.

Atlantic Highlands blackfishing November 15

Made our 7:30 am trip today from the Atlantic Highlands marina today. We fished a few spots today and found blackfish on all of them (some better then others). We only had a few keeper sea bass and porgy and a few short sea bass. With the one blackfish limit today everyone went home with a keeper and released the rest. Tomorrow the bag limit goes up to 6 blackfish and the size is 15 inches. So starting tomorrow we will make the blackfish our target. We will supply green crabs and white crabs will be available. So come on and join us for some fun fishing. We have plenty of heat in the cabin to warm up if you get cold. We are sailing everyday making one trip leaving at 7:30 am and returning between 2:30 and 3pm. Looking forward to seeing everyone.

Atlantic Highlands porgy sea bass blackfish November 12

Made our 7:30 am trip from the Atlantic Highlands marina again today. We stuck with the same plan as yesterday and it was a success. The porgy fishing was better than yesterday. We had no blackfish and only a few sea bass (most were shorts). We have been fishing the area for porgies where the fishing has been good with no dogfish. Everyone had a nice catch of keepers size porgies. The size today was better than the past few days. Sunday the 16th we will be putting our efforts for the blackfish cause the bag limit goes up to 6 fish. We are sailing everyday leaving at 7:30 am and returning between 2:30 and 3pm. Looking forward to seeing everyone.

Atlantic Highlands sea bass pogy blackfish November 11

Made our 7:30 am trip from the Atlantic Highlands marina today. We picked away at a mix of shorts and nice size keeper porgies. It turned out to be better than yesterday. There were only a few sea bass and blackfish caught. Everyone went home with dinner again today. The crew has been doing a great job of filleting them up so there are no bones. There are some new pictures in the gallery so take a look. Starting Sunday November 16 the Blackfish limit goes up to 6 Fish at 15 inches. Then we will be putting our effort targeting them. There might still be some porgies and sea bass caught. The last few days porgies have been the best bet. Looking forward to seeing everyone.
