Atlantic Highlands blackfishing December 6

Made our 7:30 am blackfishing trip from the Atlantic Highlands marina today. Considering the strong N E wind from yesterday the ocean was nicer than we thought it would be. There was very little wind today with a bit of a ground swell. With the exception of the rain the weather was not too bad. I wish the fishing could have been as good as the weather. We tried different areas and could not find good fishing. Some spots were no good and the others only produced some shorts and a few nice size keepers. There are some new pictures in the gallery from today so take a look. As of now the weatherman is calling force winds starting tomorrow with strong winds up until Wednesday. It looks like our next chance to fish might be Thursday unless there is a change. When the weather settles will be back on our schedule sailing at 7:30 am and returning between 2:30 and 3pm. Looking forward to seeing everyone. To check the weather click the NOAA insignia on the lower left of the home page ( sometimes they are right).

Atlantic Highlands blackfishing December 4

After a couple of days not fishing due to bad weather we went blackfishing today. It was not great fishing but we managed to pick. There was a mix of shorts and keepers. We had no limits but some guys had from one to four keepers and some only caught shorts. As of now the weather for tomorrow looks ok so we'll be sailing at 7:30 am. Looking forward to seeing everyone.

Atlantic Highlands blackfishing December 3

We did not fish yesterday or today due to the weather but tomorrow looks like a better day. The forecast is for west wind 10 to 15 so come down and catch some blackfish. We sail at 7:30 am returning between 2:30 and 3 pm from the Atlantic Highlands marina. Looking forward to seeing everyone.

Atlantic Highlands blackfishing December 1

Made our 7:30 am blackfishing trip again today from the Atlantic Highlands marina. It was not real calm today but nicer than yesterday. There was less wind and warmer. The fishing was not as good as yesterday but better then Saturday. We made a few moves and had a pick on each spot. I think everyone caught fish but not everyone had keepers. High hook for the day was four keeper blackfish and some had from one to three and some had none. As of now the weather for tomorrow does not look good (N E wind gust to 25) but so far Wednesday and Thursday doesn't look too bad. We'll have to wait and see. We are sailing everyday (weather permitting) leaving at 7:30 am and returning between 2:30 and 3 pm. There some new pictures in the gallery. Looking forward to seeing everyone.

Atlantic Highlands blackfishing November 30

We have been making our 7:30 am black fishing trips from the Atlantic Highlands marina the past few days. Yesterday we started out fishing the same area where we had decent fishing on Friday. We picked a few fish but it was not good. Tried a different area and the same only a few. Today it was windy and a bit rough but once we anchored up it was very fishable. The fishing was much better than yesterday. WE were able to make only one drop with some adjustments. There were three limits and everyone else had from one to five keeper black fish along with the short action. Tomorrow the weather looks good but the rest of the week we will have to take day by day. We are sailing everyday (weather permitting) leaving at 7:30 am and returning between 2:30 and 3pm. Looking forward to seeing everyone.
