Fishing Reports

Atlantic Highlands fluke fishing May 24

We have been sailing everyday making both morning and afternoon trips from the Atlantic highlands marina. The water is still a bit chilly but when the drifting conditions are good we pick at the shorts and an a few keepers. On the morning trip today we had our biggest fluke of the season so far (not counting the 9 1/2 pounder we threw back before the season). It weighed in at 7lb 9oz. Hopefully the fishing will improve as the water warms up. There are some new pictures in the gallery so take a look. We are sailing everyday making two trips 8am to 12:30 and 1:30 to 6pm. Looking forward to seeing everyone.

Atlantic Highlands fluke fishing May 22

Made both morning and afternoon trips for fluke today from the Atlantic Highlands marina. On the morning (8am to 12:30) trip we had good drifting conditions. The water was a chilly 59 degrees but the action was pretty good with mostly shorts and some keepers. The afternoon (1:30 to 6pm) trip was not as good with a strong wind making for a fast drift. All in all the first fluke trip of the season was pretty good. There were no big fish but there are a few pictures from today in the gallery. We are sailing everyday ( including Memorial Day) making two trips 8am to 12:30 and 1:30 to 6pm. Looking forward to seeing everyone and have a safe holiday weekend.

Made both morning (8am to 12:30) and afternoon ( 1:30 to 6pm) trips today from the Atlantic Highlands marina. The fishing was better on the afternoon trip. The bluefish action was better and we had one short stripe bass. WE also had two keeper size fluke that had to be thrown back. The season does not open till next Friday May 22. One was just 18 inches and the other weighed in at 9lb 9oz. Of course will bee switching over to fluke fishing then ( same schedule ). Made both morning (8am to 12:30 ) and afternoon (1:30 to 6pm) trips from the Atlantic Highlands marina today. We did not catch any stripe bass today. All the action was with the blue fish. They put up a good fight and the people had fun catching them. So if you want to catch some fish and have some fun come and make a trip. You never know you could catch a stripe bass. We are sailing everyday making two trips (8am to 12:30 and 1:30 to 6pm). Looking forward to seeing everyone.
