Fishing Reports

Atlantic Highlands fluke fishing June 30

We made both morning and afternoon trips again. On the morning trip we were able to fish the Reach channel and we picked at a mix of shorts and keepers. Not everyone caught keepers but Jim Pepper was able to catch his five fluke limit. On the afternoon trip we started in the channel and were picking until a ship came. We tried a few more drifts in different parts of the channel and only caught a few. We went into Sandy Hook bay to finish out the afternoon and caught some shorts and a few more keepers including the pool winner. There are some new pictures in the gallery from today so take a look. We are fishing everyday making two trips (8am to 12:30 and 1:30 to 6pm). This is the July 4th weekend and will be fishing our usual schedule all weekend. Looking forward to seeing everyone.

Made both morning and afternoon trips again today. On the morning trip we fished different parts of the Reach channel and Sandy Hook bay. We caught a mix of shorts and keepers every where we went even though the drifting conditions were not good. On the afternoon trip the conditions started out the same and we only caught a few. When the drifting conditions improved we went back to the Reach channel and had a steady pick of fluke. Ben had his limit while others had from one to three keepers and some only caught shorts but everyone did catch. There are a few pictures in the gallery from today so take a look. We are fishing everyday in Sandy Hook and Raritan bays making two trips (8am to 12:30 and 1:30 to 6pm). Looking forward to seeing everyone.

AGAIN the weatherman kept most of the people away today but we were able to make both morning and afternoon trips. The weather was fine with no rain or thunderstorms. On the morning trip we were able to fish the Reach channel and we picked at shorts and some keepers. On the afternoon trip we started in the channel and we were able to catch a few fluke till a couple of ships came and that put an end to the action. We went into Sandy Hook bay where we had plenty of action. Most of the fluke were shorts but everyone caught and by the end of the trip we caught a few keepers. Take a look at the gallery and see a few of the fluke from today. We are fishing everyday making two trips ( 8am to 12:30 and 1:30 to 6pm). Come join us for some fun. Looking forward to seeing everyone.

Made both morning and afternoon trips again today. On the morning trip we started in the Reach channel. We did not have much of a drift but we picked a few fish. When the drift picked up we were able to pick at a mix of shorts and keepers. In the afternoon trip the south wind picked up and we could not fish in the Reach channel. We fished in Sandy Hook bay and we had a steady pick of shorts with some keepers mixed in. Even though most were shorts everyone had fun catching fish. Even with the south wind Sandy Hook bay was calm. There are some new pictures in the gallery from today so take a look. We are fishing everyday making two trips (8am to 12:30 and 1:30 to 6pm). Don't let the rain forecast scare you. Looking forward to seeing everyone.

Atlantic Highlands fluke fishing June 25 & 26

Made both morning and afternoon trips yesterday and today. On the morning trip yesterday we fished the Reach channel and picked at a mix of shorts and keepers with good drifting conditions. We ended the morning with one of better trips with the number of keepers caught. On the afternoon trip yesterday we could not go back to the Reach channel due to the drifting conditions. We went into Sandy Hook bay and the action was not as good. We were only able to pick at shorts and not as many keepers. On the morning trip today the drifting conditions allowed us to go back to the Reach channel and we another nice morning with a good number of keepers mixed in with the shorts. Tire John took the pool with a  fluke just under 9lbs. On the afternoon trip today again we could not to back to the Reach channel due to the drifting conditions. We went into Sandy Hook bay and it was better today. The short action was good and we ended up with more keepers then yesterday. Tire john came back for the afternoon and caught a fluke just under 8lbs in Sandy Hook bay. You can see his picture and others from the past two days in the gallery. We are fishing everyday making two trips (8am to 12:30 and 1:30 to 6pm). Come make a trip and join us for some fun catching fluke. Looking forward to seeing everyone.
