Fishing Reports

Atlantic Highlands fluke fishing July 25 & 26

Thai weekend we made both morning and afternoon trips on both days. We caught fish on all trips but the action was not as good as previous days. Everyone still caught fish and there were some keepers on all trips. We tried some different areas but the better fishing was in Sandy Hook bay. The big fish of the weekend was the 9 1/2 lb fluke caught on the Sunday afternoon trip by Alex Callahan from Eatontown N.J. You can see his picture and others in the gallery so take a look. WE are sailing everyday making two trips (8am to 12:30 and 1:30 to 6pm). Looking forward to seeing everyone.

Again there has not been a report for a few days. We have made every morning and afternoon trip since the last report. The fishing has been the same. The better the drifting conditions the better the action. Even with poor conditions we still catch fish. The ratio of shorts to keepers is still not as good as we would like but the action has been keeping everyone busy. We have tried some different areas but Sandy Hook Bay has showed us most of the action. There are some new pictures in the gallery so take a look. We are sailing everyday making two trips (8am to 12:30 and 1:30 to 6pm). Come on and make a trip, have some fun, and maybe take home dinner. Looking forward to seeing everyone.

Evan though I have not made a post for the past few days we have been sailing everyday making both morning and afternoon trips. The fishing has been pretty much the same with good action with shorts and some keepers every trip. Some trips are better than others depending on the drifting conditions. We are still finding the best of the fishing in Sandy Hook bay. Even though most of the fish are shorts everyone is catching fish and having fun. There are some new pictures in the gallery so take a look. We are sailing everyday making two trips (8am to 12:30 and :30 to 6pm). Looking forward to seeing everyone.

WE have been making both morning and afternoon trips the past few days from the Atlantic Highlands marina. The action was not as good today as the past few days today but we still picked at the shorts and had some keepers. Some people caught better then others but with not much drift they had to work for them. We have found Sandy Hook bay to be better then most areas. Even with the slower fishing we had some nice keepers. You can see them in the gallery so take a look. We are sailing everyday making two trips (8am to 12:30 and 1:30 to 6pm). Looking forward to seeing everyone.

Made both morning and afternoon trips today from the Atlantic Highlands marina. We had plenty of action again on both trips. As usual it was mostly shorts but we had some nice size keepers. The big fluke of the day was caught by Gene Alexander on the morning (8am) trip. It weighed in at 10lbs. That's the second biggest fluke of the season. The biggest was the 14lber caught by Tony Paio. It was caught in Sandy Hook bay. Everyone had fun catching fish and the keepers made it better. Take a look at the nice size fish caught today in the gallery. WE are sailing everyday making two trips (8am to 12:30 and 1:30 to 6pm). Looking forward to seeing everyone.
