Fishing Reports

Atlantic Highlands fluke fishing August 5

Made both morning and afternoon trips today from the Atlantic Highlands marina. On the morning trip it was a very slow drift. We picked at fish all morning and everyone was catching fish. Most of the fish were shorts but we ended up with more keepers then previous trips. On the afternoon trip the wind picked up (not as much as yesterday) and made for a fast drift. We still managed to pick fish but not as many keepers. There are some new pictures in the gallery so take a look. We are sailing everyday making two trips (8am to 12:30 and 1:30 to 6pm). Looking forward to seeing everyone.

Atlantic Highlands fluke fishing August 3 & 4

The past two days we made both morning and afternoon trips from the Atlantic Highlands marina. Yesterday on the morning trip we had good action and ended up the morning with more keepers then previous days. On the afternoon trip the wind picked up and the fishing was not as good. The drift was fast but we still picked fish but not many keepers. Today the weatherman scared a lot of people but it was a nice day. The fishing on the morning trip the conditions were good and we ended up with a better catch of keeper fluke then yesterday.Unfortunately the wind picked up in the afternoon again and the drift was very fast. We did pick fish but mostly shorts with only a few keepers. Even with the wind it was not rough but you needed heavy sinkers. We are still catching the fluke in Sandy Hook and Raritan bays. Sometimes the drift can be fast so if you want bring a light and heavy rod. We never know how the conditions are going to be in the morning or afternoon so just pick a trip that fits your schedule. There are some new pictures in the gallery so take a look . We are sailing everyday making two trips (8am to 12:30 and 1:30 to 6pm). The youngsters go back to school soon so lets take them fishing. Looking forward to seeing everyone.

Atlantic Highlands fluke fishing August 2

We made both morning and afternoon trips this weekend from the Atlantic Highlands marina. The fishing was not as good as before the weekend. We picked fish on the morning trip yesterday with mostly shorts and some keepers. On the afternoon trip the conditions were terrible and so was the fishing. Today on the morning trip today it was a bit better then yesterday. On the afternoon trip the conditions were not great but we managed to pick at the fish. Again it was mostly shorts but just about everyone had fun catching shorts with some nice keepers mixed in. We are fishing some different areas in Sandy Hook and Raritan Bays depending on the conditions. There are some new pictures in the gallery so take a look. It is hard to say which trip will be better so just come and make a trip that works with your schedule. We are sailing everyday making two trips (8am to 12:30 and 1:30 to 6pm). Looking forward to seeing everyone.

We have made every morning and afternoon trip the past few days from the Atlantic Highlands marina. We are catching fish on every trip with most of the action being shorts but some nice size fluke mixed in. Some trips we see more keepers then others and it is hard to say what trip will be better. We have been catching  most of the fish in Sandy Hook and Raritan Bays. We have had some first timers and they are having fun catching fish. We are sailing every day making two trips (8am to 12:30 and 1:30 to 6pm). So come make a trip and have some fun catching fluke. Looking forward to seeing everyone.

Atlantic Highlands fluke fishing July 29

WE have made both morning and afternoon trips everyday since the last report. The fishing the past few days has been pretty much the same with plenty of short action with some keepers. Today  we saw an improvement in the amount of keepers on both morning and afternoon trips. Hopefully we will continue to see more  keepers everyday. We are still catching the fish in Sandy Hook and Raritan Bays. The morning trips have been a bit warm but on afternoon trips the breeze has picked up and made for a cool and comfortable fishing trip. There are some new pictures in the gallery so take a look. We are sailing everyday making two trips (8am to 12:30 and 1:30 to 6pm). Don't let the weatherman scare you. Come make a trip and have some fun. Looking forward to seeing everyone.
