Fishing Reports

Atlantic Highlands porgy fishing September 27

WE made both morning and afternoon trips from the Atlantic Highlands marina today. Today was our first for the porgies and we did not know what to except considering the easterly winds the past few days. The fishing was not fast but we did manage a pick all morning. By the end of the morning trip we managed to send most people home with dinner. The sizes were mixed with some small ones but also some nice sized ones. You can see some pictures from today in the gallery so take a look.If you want to make a trip this week the weather for tomorrow and Tuesday looks ok but the rest of the week we are not sure. We are still on our same schedule making two trips everyday (8am to 12:30 and 1:30 to 6pm) weather permitting. Looking forward to seeing everyone.

The 2015 fluke fishing season has come to an end. We will now be fishing for porgies and blackfish. The schedule is still the same making two trips everyday 8am to 12:30 and 1:30 to 6pm from the Atlantic Highlands marina.  Looking forward to seeing everyone for this fishing.

After two days of not sailing due to easterly winds we were able to make both morning and afternoon trips from the Atlantic Highlands marina today. On the morning trip it started out with a bit of a roll but as the morning went on it got real nice. We picked at some shorts and only ended up with a couple of keepers. On the afternoon trip the weather was great. The roll laid down and the drifting conditions were good. It was not great fishing but we picked at the shorts on every drift and ended up the afternoon with a few keepers. Steve from Maryland was high hook with four keepers. There are some pictures in the gallery from today so take a look. Tomorrow the weather looks ok  but as of now we are not sure after that. All I can say is keep an eye on the weather. You can check the NOAA link on the bottom of my home page. Saturday is the last day for fluke and I hope we make the end. Sunday (weather permitting) we will start bottom fishing for porgies on the same schedule (two trips everyday 8am to 12:30 and 1:30 to 6pm). Looking forward to seeing everyone.

The northeast winds have kept us (and the rest of the fleet) tied to the dock the past few days. The wind is supposed to let up tomorrow so we will be sailing. WE have no idea how the fishing will be after the weather the past few days but will give it a try. There are some new pictures in the gallery from before the weather so take a look. WE will be sailing everyday (weather permitting) making two trips ( 8am to 12:30 and 1:30 TO 6pm). Hopefully the weather will get better so we can get back to fishing. Just keep and eye on the forecast and all we can do is rely on the weatherman. Looking forward to seeing everyone.

We have been making both morning and afternoon trips from the Atlantic Highlands marina the past few days. We have been fishing the channels and at times the drift can be fast. As long as the conditions allow we with be fishing in the channels so bring a light and a heavy rod. We have had some trips where the fishing has been ok and some trips are not as good. We never know what trip will be better. There are some new pictures in the gallery from the past two days so take a look. We are sailing everyday making two trips (8am to 12:30 and 1:30 to 6pm). Looking forward to seeing everyone.
