Fishing Reports

Atlantic Highlands blackfishing December 27

Made our 3/4 day blackfishing trip again today and it was not as good as it has been. We tried a few spots and only found a few fish on each of them. The conditions were tough with the ground swell. There are a few pictures from today in the gallery so take a look. The weather for tomorrow does not look good with northeast wind and Tuesday looks worse. As of now the forecast for Wednesday looks like the next decent day but we'll see. We plan on fishing everyday this week including New Years Day (weather permitting) leaving at 7:30 am and returning between 2:30 and 3pm. We have both green and white crabs on board. Looking forward to seeing everyone.

I hope everyone had a nice Christmas. We made our 3/4 day blackfishing trip today. Again the weather was not as nice as we would have liked but it is December. Made a few drops in different areas and caught some blackfish on all of them. It was not real good fishing but John and Ben did manage five keepers each while others had one,two or no keepers. There are some new pictures in the gallery from today so take a look. Weather permitting we will be fishing everyday this week leaving at 7:30 am and returning between 2:30 and 3pm with January 3rd being our last day. We have both green and white crabs on board. Looking forward to seeing everyone.

Atlantic Highlands blackfishing December 24

Made our 3/4 day blackfishing trip today leaving at 7:30 am. It was not as nice of day as we would have liked. There was a big ground swell from the southeast and a pretty strong wind from the southwest that made for some tough fishing conditions. Even with the conditions we managed to catch some blackfish. Ben had his limit plus and john had the limit. Some of the others had two or three keepers and some had only shorts. Ben made sure that everyone went home with dinner. There are some new pictures in the gallery from today so take a look. We will not be fishing tomorrow (Christmas day) but we will be fishing everyday next week (weather permitting) including New Years Day. Sunday January 3rd will be our last day. WE have both green and white crabs on board. I want to wish every a MERRY CHRISTMAS and if we don't see you before the 3rd a safe and happy NEW YEAR.

Atlantic Highlands blackfishing December 22

Made our 3/4 day blackfishing trip again today. The weather and the fishing was not as good as yesterday. It was not rough but we did have some rain. We fished a couple of spots and some fish on both of them. We had no limits but were able to send everyone home with a blackfish for dinner. We will be fishing Christmas Eve day but we will NOT be fishing Christmas Day. We will be trying to sail everyday next week (weather permitting) leaving at 7:30 am and returning between 2:30 and 3pm. Sunday January 3 will be our last day. I want to wish everyone a Merry Christmas and hope to see you before the 3rd. We have both green and white crabs on board.

Atlantic Highlands blackfishing December 21

WE were out again today on our 3/4 day blackfishing trip. Because the forecast was for some strong westerly wind we fished some inshore spots today. The wind did blow ( not as much as they said) but it was not rough. We mad one drop and stayed on it all day. The fishing was not fast but everyone had the patience to sit with a pick. By the end of the day we had one limit and some had from one to three keepers and again a couple only caught shorts but everyone went home with fish. There are some new pictures in the gallery from today so take a look. The weather for tomorrow is for 10 to 15 knot wind and some rain so we will be trying to go. We leave from the Atlantic Highlands marina at 7:30 am and return between 2:30 and 3pm. WE have both green and white crabs on board. Looking forward to seeing everyone.
