Fishing Reports

Atlantic Highlands blackfishing December 30

Not a lot of people showed up at the Atlantic Highlands marina today. There was only enough for one boat to get out and we were it. The action was not as good as the past few trips. The shorts still outnumbered the keepers. There were no limits but one person had five keepers. Some of the others had from one to three keepers and some had no keepers. The weather looks ok for tomorrow and New Years day. (we will fish on New years day). Sunday January 5 will be our last trip for this season. So come and make a trip with before it's over. Looking forward to seeing everyone.

It was a pretty nice day on the water today. A bit chilly with the wind but not bad for the end of December. It was the calmest day we had in awhile. We fished a few spots and found action on all but one. The shorts outnumbered the keepers but everyone caught fish. By the end of the day most of the people went home with dinner. Even though there were a lot of shorts some nice size fish came up. Mike from Middletown caught a 10 1/2 lber and there were other nice ones caught. You can see the new pictures in the gallery. We will be fishing everyday including New Years day. Sunday January 7 will be our last day. Come on and make a trip before we end our season. We leave at 7:30 am returning between 2:30 and 3 ;00 pm. There is plenty of heat in the cabin to warm up and we have green and white crabs on board. Looking forward to seeing everyone.

Atlantic Highlands blackfishing December 23

Not many people showed up to fish in the rain today. There was only enough for one boat to go and we were it. The ocean was a lot nicer then we thought it would be after yesterdays wind. Just had to put up with the rain. We fished a few different spots and caught fish on all of them. Most of the fish were short but we ended up with some keepers with a few nicer size. You can see the pictures in gallery. We will fish tomorrow. We will not be fishing Christmas day but we will fish everyday including New Years. Sunday January 5 will be our last day. Sailing at 7:30 am returning between 2:30 and 3 pm. Looking forward to seeing everyone. HAVE A SAFE AND MERRY CHRISTMAS.

Atlantic Highlands blackfishing December 20

Not an easy day today. The weather was nice, warm and no wind but the anchoring conditions were the worst. Fished a few spots and the conditions were the same. With no wind or current we would flop around on the anchors. We tried all different directions. When we would sit on the spot for a bit we would catch some fish and then we would swing onto one of the anchors or the other. It was not a good day but we did manage to catch some fish. Again today the pool fish was over 8 lbs. You can see it in the gallery. The weather looks ok for tomorrow and hopefully the conditions will be better so come on down. Sailing at 7:30 am returning between 2:30 and 3:00 pm. Looking forward to seeing everyone.
