Fishing Reports

Atlantic Highlands fluke fishing June 13

The past few days we have been making both morning and afternoon trips from the Atlantic Highlands marina. We have had a lot of easterly weather. The ocean has not been nice so we have been fishing in Sandy Hook bay. Depending on the conditions we are catching fish on both morning and afternoon trips. The shorts still outnumber the keepers but some of the keepers are real nice. The big fish on the morning trip was a 7 lber and there were a couple in the 4 to 5 lb range. On the afternoon trip the big fish was a 6 lber and 4 lber. Everyone is catching shorts and some guys are getting lucky and ending up with 2 or 3 keepers. There are some new pictures in the gallery so take a look. We are sailing everyday making two trips ( 8amto 12:30 and 1:30 to 6pm ). Looking forward to seeing everyone.

Well the weather man was wrong again today. It was supposed to be the nicest day but was cool, windy with drizzle. We were still able to make both morning and afternoon trips from the Atlantic Highlands marina. Due to the easterly wind we had to fish a area in Sandy Hook bay on both trips. It wasn't a nice June day but we made the best of it. The fishing turned out to be better than expected. On both morning and afternoon the fishing was about the same. There are some new pictures in the gallery from yesterday and today so take a look. We are fishing everyday making two trips (8am to 12:30 and from 1:30 to 6pm). Lets hope the weather gets better. Looking forward to seeing everyone.

Made both morning and afternoon trips today from the Atlantic Highlands marina. The weather was great But only a few people showed up. I guess the chance of rain ( that we did not get ) scared everyone. You can't always believe the weatherman. We caught fish on both trips with some nice size keepers. The big fish of the morning was 7 1/2 lbs. The big fish in the afternoon was 6 1/2 lbs. There were other nice size fish caught on both trips. There are some new pictures in the gallery so take a look. We are sailing everyday making two trips (8am to 12:30 and 1:30 to 6pm). .looking forward to seeing everyone.

We made both trips from the Atlantic Highlands marina today. The morning and afternoon trips were pretty much the same. We fished in Sandy Hook bay and in the ocean on both trips. The catch was the same with mostly shorts and some keepers. The conditions have been the determining factors on where we fish. We are sailing everyday making two trips (8am to 12:30 and 1:30 to 6pm). Looking forward to seeing everyone.

Made both morning and afternoon trips today from the Atlantic Highlands marina. On the morning we had a pretty strong north west wind and the bay was a bit rough in Sandy Hook bay. We went to the other side of Sandy Hook into the ocean and it was calmer along the beach. We had a real nice drift with the wind and tide together. We had a plenty of action with shorts but only a few keepers. When the tide changed and wind let up we lost our drift and lost the action. Went back into Sandy Hook bay and it was calm where we caught more shorts and some keepers. In the afternoon the bay was calm and the conditions were ok. We picked fish in different areas with mostly shorts and some keepers. We are sailing everyday making two trips (8am to 12:30 and 1:30 to 6pm). There are some new pictures in the gallery so take a look. Looking forward to seeing everyone.
