Fishing Reports

Atlantic Highlands fluke fishing August 21

Made both morning and afternoon trips again today. There was easterly winds again today there was a roll in the ocean so I decided to fish in Sandy Hook Bay. It was calm and the drifting conditions were ok. We picked at shorts and caught some keepers on both trips. Take a look in the gallery and see some new pictures from today. They are calling for showers and some southwest wind tomorrow. If it is rough in the ocean we will fish in the bay again. So come on and make a trip. We are half day fishing for fluke everyday making two trips (8am to 12:30 and 1:30 to 6pm). Looking forward to seeing everyone.

Made both morning and afternoon trips again today. Due to the easterly wind the past few days there was a bit of a roll in the ocean. We decided to fish in Sandy Hook Bay where it was calm. On the morning trip we had good action with everyone catching fluke. Most were shorts but we caught some keepers. On the afternoon trip we picked at the shorts again and caught a few keepers. Not at many as the morning but everyone caught. You can see some new pictures from today in the gallery. We are half day fishing for fluke everyday making two trips (8am to 12:30 and 1:30 to 6pm). Everywhere we fish the ocean or the bay the action seems to be the same with good short action and some keepers. The weather and the conditions determine where we fish. Come make a trip and have some fun. Looking forward to seeing everyone.

With the northeast winds and rain I did not make the morning trip. We were not sure if we where going to make the afternoon but the wind diminished and the rain stopped. A few people showed up and I told them the ocean would not be nice and we would have to fish in the bay. It turn out to be a pretty nice afternoon. We only caught a couple of keepers but there was plenty of shorts for everyone to catch. Everyone enjoyed the trip. The big fish of the trip was 7 lb 3 oz fluke caught by John from Hazlet. See his picture in the gallery. They are calling for less wind and no rain for tomorrow so come make a trip. We are half day fishing for fluke everyday making two trips (8am to 12:30 and 1:30 to 6pm). Looking forward to seeing everyone.

Made both morning and afternoon trips again today. On both trips we had good action with shorts and some keepers. On the morning trip we fished in the channels. The drift was good and we had action with shorts and some keepers. We went back to the same area in the afternoon but the wind picked up and it was too fast in the channels. We fished some areas out of the channel where the people could the bottom. There we picked at shorts again and some keepers. It depends on the conditions where we fish but we find fluke in different areas. Take a look at the gallery and see some new pictures from today.
