Fishing Reports

Atlantic Highlands bottom fishing October 9

I don't know why but not many people showed up on a nice day to go fishing today but we made both trips. On both trips we had nice fishing catching plenty of porgies and some sea bass. We fished in strong current again but everyone was able to catch. There are some new pictures in the gallery from today. We are half day bottom fishing everyday catching sea bass porgies and blackfish making two trips (8am to 12:30 and 1:30 to 6pm). The weather for tomorrow looks good so come have some fun. As of now the weather for Thursday looks like rain and wind from Michael so make tomorrow the day. Looking forward to seeing everyone.

Due to the weather (strong northeast wind) we only made the morning rip today. It was too rough to fish the area where we had caught some sea bass before the season opened. We went back to the area where we have been catching porgies. It was a little rough but very fishable and everyone fished. It was not great fishing but everyone picked fish some better then others. There are a couple new pictures in the gallery. We are half day bottom fishing for sea bass blackfish and porgies making two trips (8am to 12:30 and 1:30 to 6pm). Weather permitting. They are calling for diminishing winds tomorrow so we will be fishing. Looking forward to seeing everyone.

Atlantic Highlands porgy fishing October 6 and 7

For some reason yesterdays report did not make the site but the pictures did but we made both morning and afternoon trips. The morning trip was better then the afternoon trip. We made both morning and afternoon trips again today. On the morning trip we had a slow pick but we tried to find better fishing. It did not work. The current got real fast and the fishing got worse. It was not a good trip. On the afternoon trip we fished a different and found better fishing. We still had to fish with heavy sinkers ( 10 -12 oz) but the fishing was better. It was not great fishing but those who could feel the bites in the current caught fish. It was much better then the morning. Again we never what trip will be better. There are some new pictures in the gallery from today. We are half day fishing everyday making two trips (8am to 12:30 and 1:30 to 6pm). Starting tomorrow we can keep the seabass so we will be fishing for porgies and seabass. We will still be fishing in strong so bring a heavy pole. Looking forward to seeing everyone.

I don't know why but there were not many people to go porgy fishing today. The weather was nice and we managed to make both trips. Today we caught only porgies but the fishing was as good as you would want. On both trips we only made one drop and caught from lines down to we went home. There was a strong current so we needed heavy sinkers (8-10 oz). There are a few new pictures in the gallery from today. We are half day fishing for porgies everyday making two trips (8am to 12:30 and 1:30 to 6pm). Looking forward to seeing everyone.

Atlantic Highlands porgy fishing October 4

Made both morning and afternoon trips again today. Today the morning trip was better then the afternoon trip. Most of the catch is porgies. We have been throwing the seabass back due to the close season (opens Monday October 8). Some of the guys are bringing some crabs and a few blackfish have been caught (1 Fish Limit). I tell everyone if you want to catch blackfish get your porgy dinner first then try. We catch them on some spots but on all of them. There are a couple of new pictures in the gallery. We are half day bottom fishing for porgies and blackfish everyday making two trips (8am to 12:30  and 1:30 to 6pm). Looking forward to seeing everyone.
