Fishing Reports

Atlantic Highlands bottom fishing October 14

Made both morning and afternoon trips again today and the fishing was pretty much the same. On the morning trip we started in the bay where we have been fishing. Like yesterday we had good action with mostly shorts porgies and some keepers. We left the bay to try some other spots but they were no good. On the afternoon trip we again had good action with short porgies and some keepers plus a few short blackfish. There are some new pictures in the gallery from today. The weather for tomorrow looks good so if you want to make a trip come on. As of now the weather for Wednesday is for rain and Thursday they are calling for strong winds. If they are right we will not be fishing. We will have to watch. We are still half day bottom fishing everyday making two trips (8am to 12:30 and 1:30 to 6pm). Weather permitting. Looking forward to seeing everyone.

Made both morning and afternoon bottom fishing trips again today. The ocean was a nicer this morning so I was hoping the fish would bite. We tried one drop and only caught a short seabass and a short blackfish so we went back to the bay were we fished yesterday. There everyone caught short porgies and we caught some keepers. We also had a couple of keeper blackfish and a few shorts and some blowfish. On the afternoon trip we stayed in the bay. We again picked at the porgies (mostly shorts) but it was not as good as the morning. Tomorrow is another day and we will be back trying again. Hopefully the ocean will settle down some more and the fishing will improve. There are some new pictures in the gallery from today. We are still half day bottom fishing everyday making two trips (8am to 12:30 and 1:30 to 6pm). Looking forward to seeing everyone.

After 4 days of northeast winds the wind diminished and we made both morning and afternoon trips today.  I was not real optimistic after the past few days weather. We started the morning where we fished on Monday and Tuesday. We picked some shorts and a few keeper porgies. Looking for better we went to the ocean where there was a ground swell. Tried some areas including where we fished last week. Did not read much and caught just about nothing. Went back to the bay where we started and again picked at shorts porgies and a few keepers. On the afternoon trip we stayed in the bay where we had plenty of action with everyone catching plenty of shorts but only a few keepers. There are a few new pictures in the gallery from today. Hopefully the swells will calm down and we can find seabass and porgies in the ocean. We will have to see. We are half day bottom fishing for seabass and porgies everyday making two trips (8am to 12:30 and 1:30 to 6pm). Looking forward to seeing everyone.

Another day of strong winds and we did not fish. The forecast for tomorrow is for diminishing winds so we plan on fishing. Being that we have not fished since Tuesday we don't know how the fishing will be. We will have to see what will happen. We will be bottom fishing fishing for porgies and seabass making two trips everyday (8am to 12:30 and 1:30 to 6pm). Looking forward to seeing everyone and hopefully the past few days weather did not hurt the fishing.

The strong winds have kept all boats from fishing the past few days. Tomorrow will be another day of no fishing with a forecast of gale force winds (gusts to 40). As of now the forecast for Saturday is for diminishing winds. If they are right we will be fishing. We will be back making two trips (8am to 12:30 and 1:30 to 6pm). Looking forward to seeing everyone.
