Fishing Reports

Sunday Dec 2

The day started out with tough anchoring conditions. A few fish on each drop. A lot of resetting. When the conditions got right the fishing improved. We finished up the day with a nice pick of shorts and keepers. The top fish of the day was 10lbs with other nice ones. See the new pictures in the gallery.

Finally back fishing

We were out today for the first time since SANDY. The fishing was a fair pick. It started out ok then a bit of lull and then it picked up again. The sizes varied with a mix of shorts and some real nice ones. Check out the gallery for some of today's catch.

We are back fishing

Starting Saturday Nov. 17 we will be fishing for Blackfish sailing 3/4 day leaving at 7:30 returning about 2:30

Sandy was tough but we survived

Hurricane Sandy was the worst we have seen in a long time. Thank god the Atlantic Star had no damage. The Atlantic Highlands marina was not as lucky. The marina suffered severe damage. We do not know when we will be fishing again.

I was very fortunate to have no damage to my home and boat. I hope everyone reading message was as fortunate as  I was.

I will send out a report when we can start fishing.

Porgies still the best bet

Only out a few days this week due to weather. Strong current between the channels saw some blackfish and porgies. Went to the Sandy Hook reef and found better porgies but no blackfish. Plenty of action with mixed sizes.  Sort through and get some nice ones for dinner. Blackfish only one til Nov 16 but dont miss out on this good fishing.
