Fishing Reports

Atlantic Highlands fluke fishing June 27

We have been fishing making both the morning (8am to 12:30) and afternoon (1:30 to 6pm) trips this past week. The fishing has been slower than we like. The action has been mostly shorts with some keepers. But the morning trip today saw a big improvement. The conditions were good and we had more action and more keepers than the last few days. The afternoon was not as good. The south wind picked up and the drift was fast. We caught fish but not as good as the morning. But every day is different so we will have to see what tomorrow brings We have been doing most of our fishing in Sandy Hook bay but sometimes on the ocean side of Sandy Hook depending on the conditions. There are some new pictures in the gallery so check them out. Looking forward to seeing you on board. PS  The weather on the water has been nice with cool wind not like the heat and air quality advisories on lands.

The last few days we have a lot of action. Everyone is having fun catching fish. A lot of the fish are just short but there are some nice size keepers being caught. We have seen some of the pool fish in the 6 to 6 1/2 lb class. We have been doing most of the fishing in the Sandy Hook and Raritan bays. As usual the conditions play an important role in the fishing. It has been a mix of bait or sproys. The mates have been doing a good job of helping everyone rig their rig of choice. There are some new pictures in the gallery so check them out. Looking forward to seeing everyone. Don't forget there is no bait shop in the marina, we have rigs and sinkers but if you need anything else stop at a bait shop on the way to boat.

The weather this week made us miss a few trips. On the days we were able to get out we fished mostly in Sandy Hook and Raritan bays. As usual the ratio is mostly shorts but we did catch a few nicer fish. We had a few fish in the 6 to 6 1/2 lb range. The afternoon trip today was the best of the week. You can see some of them in gallery. Just a reminder the is still no bait shop in the harbor so if you want anything other than rigs and sinkers stop at a shop on the way to boat. Looking forward to seeing you on board.

The rain kept the people away today so we did not fish. The rest of the week we fished making both trips everyday. We have been doing most of the fishing in Sandy Hook and Raritan bays. As usual it is hard to say which trip will be better. It all depends on the conditions. We did see a few days were the drift was slow the guys working the spro's did a bit better. When the drift picked up bait worked just as good. The short action has picked up keeping everyone busy waiting for a keeper. Looking forward to see everyone.

The fluke fishing the last few days has been slow to ok. There is still no way to tell which trip is better morning or afternoon. While most of the fishing has been in Sandy Hook bay sometimes we will fish on the ocean side of Sandy Hook.We did see a few nicer size fish today. Check out the new pictures in the gallery. We have rigs and sinkers on board but there is still no bait shop in the marina. On some days the gulp and killie combo works better so if you want them you have to stop at a bait shop on the way to the boat. We have been out everyday so come down, looking forward to seeing you.
