Fishing Reports

Atlantic Highlands fluke fishing September 6

We did not try to fish today with the reports of strong winds from Dorian. It is blowing as I write this report. As of now the forecast for tomorrow is still for strong winds. If it is still blowing in the morning we will not be fishing. We will have to see what it is like in the morning. If you have a long drive and it is blowing in the morning wait or we will see what it is like for the afternoon. If you have a long drive maybe Sunday will be better. It is supposed to be a nicer day. On my home page in the lower left corning there is the weather buoy. Take a look at that when you get up. Looking forward to seeing everyone when the weather improves.

I guess hurricane Dorian kept most of the people away (even though it is hundreds of miles away) cause only a few people showed up for both the morning and afternoon trips today. We made both trips and the weather was as nice as you would want. On the morning trip we had good short action with everyone catching fluke but no keepers. On the afternoon trip the action was not as good but still everyone caught shorts. We will not be fishing tomorrow and we will have to see what the weather is going to be like on Saturday. Watch the weather. Hopefully Dorian will go by quickly so we can resume our schedule. When the weather clears we will be back half day fishing for fluke making two trips (8am to 12:30 and 1:30 to 6pm). Looking forward to seeing everyone then.

It was a nice day but we only  made the morning trip. I guess the chance of a pop up thunder storm (that we did not get) kept people away. On the morning trip we had shorts on every drift but no keepers. The weather for tomorrow looks ok and we will be fishing so come on down. The forecast for Friday is for Dorian to pass us so we will not be fishing. If she passes we will be back fishing on Saturday. After that we will be back on schedule making two trips for fluke (8am to 12:30 and 1:30 to 6pm). Looking forward to seeing everyone.

Made both morning and afternoon trips again today. Today the fluke fishing was a little better and it was one of the nicer weather days. On the morning trip the shorts action was good and we had a few keepers. The action on the afternoon trip was better then the past few days but only had one keeper. Take a look at the gallery and see some new pictures from today. We are half day fishing for fluke everyday making two trips (8am to 12:30 and 1:30 to 6pm). The weather for tomorrow looks good so we will be fishing. As of now the weather for Thursday looks ok but we are watching Dorian so if you plan on fishing Thursday call tomorrow night and we will see what it looks like. As of now Friday looks like a no fishing day but we'll see. Lets hope Dorian goes out to sea. Looking forward to seeing everyone.

Made both morning and afternoon trips again today. On the morning trip we picked at shorts on every drift and caught a couple of keepers. On the afternoon trip the action was better then yesterday. We had no keepers but we caught shorts on every drift. Tomorrow is another day and hopefully the shorts will bite as good and maybe a few more keepers. Take a look at the gallery and see some pictures from today. We are half day fishing for fluke everyday making two trips (8am to 12:30 and 1:30 to 6pm). Looking forward to seeing everyone.
